One Yes

It's been a little over a year since I've written this blog and I really wish I had written more over this year. It's been a rough one. Last time I wrote I talked about starting school at Lewis University, and it really hasn't been the best journey of my life. In the world of theatre I am going to have many people say no to my acting, but it has been a little disheartening to be told no so many times. I know I need a thicker skin, and I am trying, but easier said than done. I've also had an ugly reality about people thrown in my face... THEY SUCK! Not all people suck, just the ones who I thought were my friends. I did however meet a few people who have turned out to be very good friends to me, and I can't thank them enough for that. On a happier note however I am still planning my wedding. I have my photographer, church, reception hall, and wedding theme! BTW it's Doctor Who themed! Shane, the fiance, is wearing the 10th Doctor's brown suit and I am dying my hair blond to be his Rose Tyler. The groomsmen will all have an object that is related to different regenerations of The Doctor. (Ex: Shane's brother Coley will be wearing the 4th Doctor's scarf) Our honeymoon is going to be legen-andIhopeyouaren'tlactoseintolerantbecausethenextpartofthisis-dary! We are going to Disney World and Universal Studios! Shane has never been and I've been at least 10 times over the years. Disney has been a HUGE part of my life. I was raised on Disney films, I basically only watched those growing up. Sharing Disney with Shane is going to be amazing, and then one day I will share it with our kids. This Summer was also pretty amazing. I was cast in a production of RENT my all time favorite musical. I was the bag lady and the understudy for Joanne (I had two shows to play her). Joanne has been a dream role for a long time and getting to play her was indescribable. It's that feeling of being one the stage that makes all of those nos irrelevant, it makes them nothing, because one yes can change my life.What yes changed your life?

Let's play catch up

It's been some time since I've written and well a lot has happened. The last time I wrote was when The Dark Knight Rises came out...a year and a half ago. Ok, let's see... I finally got my butt away from the land called Joliet Junior College and am now a proud resident at Lewis University where I am still studying theatre. Since I last wrote I have done a few shows that I am quite proud of. I was in a production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood where I played The Princess Puffer, an opium dealing prostitute. Now aside from playing Juliet this is my biggest role to date. I got three song all to myself, plus a duet! After that i directed a one act which was a scene from The Matchmaker. This was my first experience directing and It was pretty great. I enjoyed getting to have a vision and make it happen. Over this past summer I was a part of Legally Blonde the Musical at Lewis University where I played Enid Hoops, the lesbian law student. That's right, I played a lesbian, and almost the entire show I had to stare at a girls butt, luckily within the first few days this girl and I became really good friends, as a matter of fact, Rachel has become one of my best friends. I honestly have no idea what I would have done without her keeping me sane this semester. I also worked on a show called She Kills Monsters, which is basically like a huge game of Dungeons and Dragons. For those who know me at all, I love D&D! My fiance got me addicted to it soon after we started dating. Sadly I was not onstage for this show but I was backstage helping with quick changes, one of which involved taking red off of a guys face, and then reapplying it, within 10 min altogether. It was crazy!

Weddings.
I have a right to this one! I am currently planning my wedding and the obsession is getting out of control! I watch wedding shows like Say Yes to the Dress far too much since I have had my wedding dress for about a year.

He Rises

Ok, I know I haven't written in quite some time but now is as good a time as any to start up again. And how shall I start? By reviewing The Dark Knight Rises, duh! For all of you that know me I've seen the movie three times within the week that it has been out, so I think a review is in order.
SPOILER ALERT!!!! Don't continue reading if you don't wanna know what happens.
Ok, let's start with Bane. The first time I saw the movie I was like what the hell is wrong with his voice?!?!?!?! It was so uppity and "Do you want some crumpets with your tea?". However, the second time I saw the movie I actually liked it. Yes it was what I said, but I realized that Bane is a highly intelligent character. If you read Batman comics you know Bane is one of the scariest villains because he is not only physically scary, but mentally he could kick Sheldon Coopers butt at trivia. I did not like that with him being as scary as he is that one blast from the Bat Bike and he was down for the count.
Bruce Wayne/Batman. This movie was obviously about Bruce Wayne's redemption. This was portrayed extremely well, especially with The Pit. Him climbing up the pit, to me, was not only the physically Dark Knight Rising, but Bruce going to his redemption. I loved what they did with the ending of the movie with The Batman sacrificing himself for Gotham. This again was part of the redemption plot.
Selina Kyle/ Catwoman. Ok, I have to admit I was really nervous about Anne Hathaway playing this role. I know she is a very versatile actress, but it is still an iconic role and I couldn't help but worry. She nailed the role. I was so pleasantly surprised. I think one of my favorite moments in the film was in the begining when we see her speaking to Bruce and she goes form sweet and shy to I am so not one to be trifled with.
Commissioner Gordon. The only way they really used The Commissioner was to bring out the truth about Harvey Dent, which yes, needed to come out, but I was sad that there wasn't more of him. That being because I LOVE Gary Oldman.
Blake/Robin. I'd like to start with I love Joseph-Gordon Levitt. He is an extremley talented actor. I liked what they did with the character of Blake. He never gave up hope, and that in itself is amazing.  Plus I enjoyed how Bruce left all of the Batman things for him and basically said "Do with this as you wish".
Miranda Tate/ Talia Al Ghul. While sitting in the theater and listening to Bruce Wayne think that Bane was the child of Ra's Al Ghul I was like, "NO! Ra's Al Ghul had a GIRL!!!! Bane can't be his kid!" I sat there and slowly determined that Miranda had to be Talia. Watching the movie three times I caught a shot that really kind of gives it away that she is not as nice as we all thought. She is standing in a slightly darkened room and it is a close up on the side of her face, she has a slight grin that is almost impossible to notice, but it is completely evil.
Alfred. Alfred ripped my heart out when he left. It just wasn't the same without Alfred, however I think it was a good choice to have Alfred leave and come back for the funeral of Bruce. I also loved that they did do the scene in Florence where Alfred sees Bruce and Selina, living the life they never could in Gotham.
Overall it was a truely amazing movie and I couldn't be happier about how Nolan did this film.

Do I hear wedding bells?

Yea, wedding bells... I'm a little shocked too. I'm ENGAGED! How crazy is that? A few months ago I was convinced I would be married to my career and be a lonely dog lady, but here I am, engaged to a wonderful man who loves me. When am I getting married you ask? In June of 2014! Two years away, but still close. I am going wedding dress and bridesmaids dress shopping in a few weeks! I am so excited! I want a lace wedding dress. Lace is sexy and completely classy all at once, how could I go wrong? How did he propose? Well, we were at Easter dinner with my family and he was talking about a sermon he had heard in church that morning and it pointed out that things that have to do with Easter represent new life, when all of a sudden he is on one knee next to me asking me to marry him! Yes, I cried, and obviously said yes. Now we are planning our wedding and I can't wait for it to happen!
         In other news, my brother is moving out of state. He got accepted to Boston University where the mascot is, get this, a Boston Terrier! If you know my family at all we used to have a Boston Terrier name Mecko. He was the cutest little dog ever, but we sadly lost him the summer before I started college. I convinced Shane (the fiance) that when we get a dog it will be a Boston Terrier. His only condition for that is that we get two cats, which I have no issues with.


Obsession # 11
SMASH
I have an obsession with the new TV show Smash. It is about people putting together a musical about Marilyn Monroe! The music in it has been phenomenal! Not only have they done a few covers of songs, but the original music has blown me away. The writers for this how know exactly what they are doing. My personal favorite songs are "Let me be your star" and "Second Hand White Baby Grand". If you haven't watched it at all I suggest you catch up before the season finale!

One Ring to Rule Them All...

Wow, it's been a while since i've blogged. A lot has happened since then... My Dad cam back from his three month business trip in Europe just in time for Christmas! My Mom and I are beyond happy to have him home. I met a wonderful guy who is probably the biggest geek that I have ever met, but that's part of why I like him. I've started to become more of a geek, I mean come on, I bought my first comic the other day. (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) I am the costume designer for the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at my college. That's a new experience that i can't wait to have. I started watching Smallville due to the fact that Superman is my favorite Superhero. I love it! I'm just about to finish season 4. I got a bunch of my hair chopped off the other day so I now have short hair.  You like?

My brother and sister-in-law came to visit and we had a ball! It was definatly a good visit. Over this past semester I was involved with two shows at my community college. The first was "The Pillowman" by Martian McDonagh. This involved some twisted stories that involved child killings, and me playing The Little Jesus Girl and getting crucified...that was definatly really interesting! The second show was "Dark of the Moon" Which was basically Twilight with witches instead of Vampiers and a sad ending.
My band finally played a paying gig and we kicked some major butt!!

Obsession #10 Lord of the Rings.
Ladies and Gents for those of you who don't know me I have a love of this series. I read the series in the 8th grade and have been watching the movies since they started 10 years ago. (the ten year anniversary was a few weeks ago) Recently my boyfriend and I watched all three movies and I am excited to say he is more obsessed than I am with the series. During the movies he would sit there and mouth the lines and sing along with Merry and Pippin, or whoever was singing. Most girls would have found this annoying, but me? I find it friggin adorable and awesome! Now, due to my love of the series I am learning some phrases in Elvish.   Man lu vin achenitham? which means: When will we see each other again?      Gerich meleth nin. which means: You have my love.

Two Women and a Few Weddings...

So, my father has officially left for Europe for the next three months. These next few months are gonna be tough for my Mom and I. My Mom because her husband is gone and they have never been apart for more than two weeks, and me because my Dad and I are really close. I am having trouble imagining life in this house without him and his cheezey sense of humor. I will however have my boyfriend around to pick up the cheezey humor slack that my Dad is leaving, so I won't go completely without it. Still, I miss my Dad, and can't wait for him to be home!

Wedding Shows
So my Mom got me hooked on watching Say Yes to the Dress. We sit there and crtique the dresses and I beg her to not be too oppinionated when we pick out my dress and then we talk about what kind of dress I want. Now we have also started watching Four Weddings, and discuss again the aspects that we like and what I want at my wedding. Might I add that I'm only 19...

We Never Come Up With Good Ideas on the Otter!

Ever have that feeling like you've been replaced, or somewhat forgotten? I've been feeling that way a bit. When I first came home in the winter from Indiana I had realized that my "little sister" had replaced me and that weather or not i liked it, I wasn't apart of her life anymore. She had replaced me with a friend and i was no longer a member of the family. Now, I feel more forgotten then replaced. After leaving Indiana and some of my best friends, I kind of feel as if I've been forgotten. I still have a few friends whom i speak to on a regular basis, but there are some that I was so close to, that barely speak to me at all now, and it saddens me, A LOT.  I suppose I really can't help that, I try to keep in touch as much as possible, but the ball is in their court now. I try not to be bitter, or upset with them, but sometimes i just can't help it.

My Life is a Movie

So I know I mentioned waaaaay back when that I am involved with a group of people who make full length films for fun.Well, today we are filming at my home. We are currently filming a movie called "Autumn", which is about the effects one girl's death has on many people's lives.  And we are filming in my backyard, which in the movie is the backyard of the coke addict's home. We are also in the middle of filming a five part short called "Night of the Clowns" in which we all get tortured by clowns, creepy clowns, REALLY CREEPY CLOWNS. Did I mention my freakish fear of clowns? Like I see a clown and I cry in a corner. But after a while they aren't creepy because I know the guys behind the make up. Speaking of the movie group, we just had a premiere! It was for our movie "Tower Phi", which is about a killer in a fraternity.
So let's start from the very beginning, a very good place to start.... How did I meet these wonderful people that have become my best friends? Well I'm glad you asked. I originally met them because of an audition for an Indie film for a movie called "Mach" by Mike Simek. Kevin Greene, who is our writer, director, and creator of our production company Achieving Movement, was at these auditions looking for more actors for his movies with Achieving Movement. Kevin saw my audition and wanted me to play a role in his movie 9TEEN. Kevin contacted me a few days after the audition while I was downtown with some friends. I had originally gotten a text message from a friend saying "hey this guy wants your number can I give it to him?" Before I even get the chance to tell him yes I get a text message from some kid named Kevin Greene saying "Hi, I saw you at the Mach auditions and I want you to play a role in my movie" So, I said yes, and here I am, letting them film in my backyard and watching Kevin snort powdered sugar.

The O.C.
So I recently started watching The O.C. because Kevin Greene decided that I needed to study their acting and take some notes. Not only do I agree that the acting is phenomenal, but this show has become addicting!

Just Friends?

Anyone else hate it when a guy you like asks you to hang out as "just friends"? It sucks right? I had that happen today... Let me tell you it sucks!!! Especially when you know the guy likes you! AHHHHH!!!! Ok, sorry about the slight two sentence rant and scream, but it was really bugging me, and still is.... What I want to know is, is he asking me to hang out as friends and hoping it turns into a date, or does he really just want to be friends???? People confuse me!! or maybe I'm overthinking it... I tend to do that...

Obsession #6
DISNEY!!!
I know I've mentioned Disney multiple times in the past blogs, and now you really get to read how much I really do love it! To start off, I've been going to Disney once about every 2 years since I was 9 months old. I'm 19 now, you do the math... My room is themed after Tinker Bell, and if you look carefully around my house you can find all of the subtle Disney things in each room. And mind you, when I say each room I mean EVERY room in the house has something Disney related in it. Also, I know all of the words to basically EVERY Disney song! Go ahead, test me, i dare you!

I'm a what?

So I've officially started my Sophomore year of college, that's really weird for me. I finally adjusted to the fact that I'm in college and now i'm a sophomore? What is this? Well despite my non believing I'm a sophomore I've had a pretty damn good week so far. On Monday I had one class and it was Acting 1. My teacher is from the south with  of course a southern accent and she is friggin hilarious! It's nice to have a teacher with the same sense of humor as me. On our first day we got up close and personal with our classmates as we made letters with our bodies. Today we practiced different kinds of walks and learned how to breath correctly.
Now, my Psyc class is just as awesome. My teacher, whenever a student walked in late, pretended that the student walked into the wrong class before telling them they were in the right room. he cracked a lot of jokes and made fun of himself a little. I spose that is what will make the class more fun then a regular Psyc class.
Today I also went to the JC Players, which is the theater group on campus, and I got a tour of the theater department, and what was I most excited about? I got to walk on the catwalk! Even though i am afraid of heights I got up on the catwalk and looked at the stage from above, and it was fun! After the tour we all played improv games and NINJA! In which I completely dominated! I think I'm gonna be ok this semester!

Obsesion #5
Accents. I love them. I especially love them when the come from a guy. Over the years I have perfected my British accent due to my love of Harry Potter (an obsession of its own). I started by mimiking Emma Watson and continued from there and now I can say that I think it's pretty good. Recently I've been working on my Irish accent due to Damien Mcginty of The Glee Project. 

Disney and Bazinga!

So I am officially going to apply to do the Disney College Program in Florida! I would be spending a year in Florida, in Disney, working there! How AMAZING is that?!?!?!?!?! There is a possibility that I could be apart of the performances in Disney or working in one of the shops! Heck, even if I end up cleaning toilets it will be an amazing experience! Disney is a very big part of my life. My family and I go to Disney about every other year. Suffice to say we love Disney, A LOT!!

So I've decided to add an obsession to the end of every blog so this one is the fifth or sixth...ok now i have to check...................ok so its #4... that is if I counted it right...
Obsession #4 (I think)
BIG BANG THEORY! I have a love of a TV show Called Big Bang Theory which is about four scientists at a college, One of which is EXTREAMLY awkward and stubborn and set in his ways. Watching the antics of Howard, Leonard, Sheldon, and Rajh is one of the most entertaining things in the world!

It's Raining, It's Pouring

Rain. Some of my favorite moments in my life and in my favorite movies happened in the rain. For instance in my favorite chick flick The Notebook my favorite scene is on the docks by Noah Calhoun's home when He and Allie have gotten back from a boat ride at it's basically him telling he he still loves her and they embrace and make out in the rain. Yes, I'm aware of how cheesey this is but I am a fan of the cheesey moments in life and in movies.
Another Favorite rain scene of mine occurs in Rocky Horror. Brad and Janet's car has broken down and they of course burst into song as they find their way to Dr. Frankenfurter's mansion.
Let's not forget the EPICNESS that is the Battle of Helm's Deep, which ALSO happened in the rain!
Today I was out bike riding with my dear cousin Sierra and we are on our way back to her home. We are maybe fifteen minuets from her house and the sky completely opened up and poured rain! We were soaked, but it was so much fun to ride my bike out in the rain!
I'll admit I love the rain, and I've always dreamed of having a very meaningful kiss in the rain, maybe one day that will happen, but for now it's a dream that involves one of my favorite things: RAIN.

The Missing Puzzle

Ever feel like you don't belong, like you were meant to be somewhere else? I feel that all the time. "Life's not about fitting in, it's about standing out" but what is standing out if you have no one to share your life with?I never knew where I fit in, and who i could share that standing out with. I have wonderful friends and family where I am but my puzzle piece never really fit in any place I was, until recently. I went to visit my best friend Lain in Indiana for a week a few weeks ago, and I can say with confidence that I feel like I found where I fit. I wish I was still there with Lain and my newly found friends, stargazing at Pride Rock, being obnoxious at the drive-in, yelling at someone for walking two hours in the dark late at night, getting ice cream, renting movies, playing Harry Potter Lego, and maybe even one day Wagon Surfing! (yes, you read correctly, Wagon Surfing.) Sometimes I feel as if life would be easier if I could move there and be apart of this puzzle that my puzzle piece seems to fit into, but like they say, "If life were easy, it'd be a slut," and life is sooooo not a slut. I miss my puzzle in Indiana, but I know that being away from them makes anytime I get to see them so much better. So, for now i remain in Illinois trying to find a puzzle here that might be as great a fit as the one in IN, but even if I don't I know that I did find a puzzle, and I'm not alone.

I Told You It Was Completely Legit!

Okay, I'm bringing up another obsession of mine so bear with me.
#1 Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I've been watching Buffy since it came out when I was a kid, but I haven't watched it in years! About a year ago My friend referenced it, and I caught the reference and we started discussing it. He then let me borrow all of the seasons of it and I watched them a quickly found my love for the show all over again. I then asked my parents for all of the Buffy seasons for Christmas. I got all but two of them so I searched for months to find them both. I found one of them pretty quickly, but I didn't find the second one til just recently. Since then I've been watching the episodes a lot. Tonight my friend yet again referenced my favorite episode of Buffy: Once More With Feeling. This happens to be the musical episode of Buffy in which Zander summons a demon that makes you dance and sing. I promptly put some of the Lyrics as my facebook status and a friend of mine commented. We then decided to revive this musical with me as Buffy, her as Dawn, and we'd ask James Marsters to return to the role of Spike, because come on, who doesn't wanna make out with James Marsters at the end of a musical?

My Head Says One Thing But My Heart Says Another...

Ever had that happen? Your head is being the reasonable one and your heart is being reckless? I'm in that situation currently, with college. I spent a the first semester of my freshmen year at a wonderful school in Indiana. I felt truly at home in this place. I met some of the best friends of my life, I was surrounded by loving Christians like myself, it was absolutely wonderful, until I took on too much and had to leave. I am now at a community college and have a chance to go to Columbia College in Chicago to study Theater, which like I said in one of my previous blogs is my passion. Columbia is known for it's theater program and i could make so many connections to help with my career in the future, but part of me still wants to be at that wonderful school in Indiana. I have no idea where I am supposed to be. Am I supposed to be at this school surrounded by a christian community, or am I supposed to be at his great college that is known for Theater? I suppose only God knows at this point and he is not letting me in on it right now, but I really wish he would.

Never Have I Ever...

Ok so this post is inspired by my friend Jacob who just posted his first post in his blog "Scribblings of a Hopeless Romantic". Firsts are a fun subject to talk about. First kiss, first time on stage, first time that you remember being in Disney, first best friend etc.
I think my favorite first is the first time I remember being in Disney. I've been going to Disney once about every two years since I was nine months old, I'm nineteen now, you do the math. My first memory of Disney is being at a character breakfast and Pluto decided it would be a good idea to try and swallow my head, but of course that didn't work.
Another favorite first of mine is my first Doctor, Doctor Who that is. (I told you I had an obsession) My first Doctor was the amazing Matt Smith. I guess there is no way to elaborate other than to say how amazing he is...
My first kiss was not like I wanted it to be. It was kind of sweet because he asked me if he could kiss me, but he was a sloppy kisser and he tasted of nachos. I couldn't eat nachos for months after that. I do have to say that my best first kiss with a certain guy was wonderful. We were in Disney with our choir our Senior year of HS. He had asked me out on the plane there by coloring me a picture of Beauty and the Beast and writing "If you be my Beauty I'll be your Beast" on the top of it. He waited the entire week that we were there to kiss me. The kiss happened on the side of Cinderella castle while fireworks were going off at midnight on New Years. Pretty Picture Perfect huh?
The most recent first is going to a drive in movie. I don't have any near where I live and while I was visiting some friends in Indiana they took me to one. Not only was it my first time at a drive in, but we were seeing the midnight premier of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows part 2. I'm honestly glad we were at a drive in too, because had we been at a regular theater we would have been kicked out due to the fact that we kept cracking jokes and we were obnoxious and laughing loudly.
So I leave you with my firsts.

Do you want to be a Cyberman?

Passions. What are yours? What are mine? What passions does that girl at the table by the window at Starbucks have? No matter what they are, we all have them, just like insecurities and fears. My passions seem to lay in the artsy fartsy field. I have a love of the theater, a love of music, and a love of writing (hence the blog).
Theater. I didn't discover my love of theater until my sophomore year of High School. I had tried out for shows my freshmen year and didn't make it and was just trying out because I thought it would be fun, then I was actually put in a show. It was the fall play of my sophomore year and I hadn't been cast, but a week before the show I was approached by my English teacher, who was directing the show, and was told that someone had quit and she wanted me to replace her. Thankfully I was just a voice in some kid's head so I could read from the script, but the night of my first show was a thrill, I was so happy to be doing what I was doing, so naturally I auditioned for the next show, and the next one, and the next one, quickly realizing that I wanted to be onstage the rest of my life. People always ask, "Why Theater?" My answer: "It's an escape. I am able to experience new things, and I can get away from reality for a little while and be a completely different person and figure out what it's like to be in their shoes. A lot of the time a role will put something in my life in a whole new perspective for me and it is truly an amazing experience."
Music! Music is another great passion of mine that I've actually had a hold of my entire life, I  think I came out singing! I've been singing since I could speak and I can't imagine not being able to sing. Music screams the words I am afraid to speak. To me, being able to sing to someone how I feel is so much easier than straight up telling them. It's the only I'll ever be able to say "I'm not as together as you think I am" or "I'm so not perfect, but I'm me and that's ok." In the immortal words of Eddplant, "...If it needs to be said then say it, if it needs to be sung don't hesitate..." Singing is sometimes the only way to express something, and when I sing or play my guitar I don't hesitate.
Last but definitely not least is writing. My passion for writing is not as strong as that for music and theater, but the passion is still there, if it weren't I don't think I'd be writing this blog. I didn't really discover my passion for writing until my Junior year of HS. I was sitting in a class one day bored, so I wrote a poem, which the turned into monologues, which then turned into stories, which then turned into movie scripts. It's all for fun and I will probably never actually make my scripts into movies, I'll leave the script writing and carrying out to Kevin Greene (Basically the head of Achieving Movement productions)
So, what's your passion or passions? Are they similar to mine or completely different? Whatever they are don;t stop pursuing them, because if you didn't pursue what you love then what kind of world would we live in? I'll tell you! A world where Cybermen ruled and we all thought the same and looked the same and did all the same things! Boring world right?

An Obsession or a Completely Legit Non-creepy Love of Things?

Let's talk about OBSESSIONS! For starters I mentioned one of mine in my last blog, Doctor Who. Now Doctor Who is a completely AMAZING television series from Jolly Old England! The Doctor is a Time Lord who travels around in a TARDIS (time machine) that looks like a police box. The Doctor always has someone traveling with him, and with said person he continues to save the world in different time periods. This show is, if I'm not mistaken, the longest running Sy-Fy series on television. How do they do this you ask, well, a Time Lord doesn't die, they regenerate. When a Time Lord is close to dying the regenerate and get a new body (new face, new personality, etc) except, they have all the same memories. The Doctor never forgets ANYTHING that happens to him. The only way for a Time Lord to die is if they are killed during their regeneration process. There have been eleven Doctors, including the one and only David Tennant, who is by far the best Doctor I've seen, followed closely by the current Doctor Matt Smith.

Obsession #2: Youtubers with British Accents.
Ok I have a love of a certian Youtuber's music, and it just so happens he has a British accent because well he's from England. Eddplant has quickly become my favorite indie artist. I can listen to his music constantly and not get tired of it! I stumbled upon this youtuber because of another youtuber I found because of his love of Doctor Who. See Charlieissocoollike writes Doctor Who music, also known as Trock, or Time Lord Rock, and is in a band devoted to writing and recording Trock. (SEE! I'm not the only one who is obsessed with The Doctor!) After listening to Charlie and Edd, I found two other friends of theirs that caught my eye, Alex Day and Tom Milsom! Both amazing artists as well and share the love of The Doctor!

I shall Leave you with the words of The Doctor, "Bow ties are cool."

A Sleeve or a Box?

Insecurities, we all have them. Some of us wear them on our sleeves so everyone can see, and others are able to hide theirs inside a small box in their pocket. I'm one of those who wears them on her sleeve, right next to my heart.  I've been faced with a lot of my insecurities lately and I'm finding that it scares the living crap out of me. Over the past few days I've been more aware of my singleness then usual. My brother and his wife (fairly recent, he was married the first weekend of June) came to visit for my cousin's wedding and while spending the day after the wedding with my parents and them my singleness hit me square in the face. They sat there and talked about marriage and relationships almost the entire day and it was all I could do not to cry. I sat there and thought "What if I never get that? What happens if I never find love? What if I end up alone?" And there Ladies and Gents, is my biggest insecurity and fear, being alone. I know that I am never truly alone because I have God and my family and friends, but a romantic aloneness is so different. With the past few boyfriends I've thought, "Is he it? Am I finally with the one?" but again and again I was wrong and ended up hurting and my fear and insecurity got worse. Over time I'm hoping that the fear and insecurity dwindles and I can enjoy a relationship even if I know it will come to an end.

On a lighter note, I suppose I could take some time to tell you about myself, I mean you've already read more about me than I like to tell so why not give you some basics as well. I'm Christian, and a volunteer youth leader at my church. I'm an actress, and I can't imagine my life without theater. I am currently involved with Achieving Movement, an independent film company run by some close friends, making mostly horror films. I've been in eight plays and two musicals. My favorite role to date was when I got the chance to play Juliet in Shakespeare's classic Romeo and Juliet, that role followed closely by the time I got to play an eighteen year old boy and wear a bow tie. (yes, I said bow tie, bow ties are cool) I'm a writer. I am in a band called Illibrium which means "of rain" in Latin. I have no idea what genre we are so don't ask, we play whatever we like no matter the genre. I have one brother and a newly found sister-in-law. I have an obsession with Doctor Who (that will have its own post)

For now I'm gonna say that's all, I think this was a productive first blog.
